The Doors No one younger than 18 may see an 18 film in a cinema.

Adults should be free to choose their own entertainment. Exceptions are most likely in the following areas:

• where the material is in breach of the criminal law, or has been created through the commission of a criminal offence
• where material or treatment appears to us to risk harm to individuals or, through their behaviour, to society. For example, the detailed portrayal of violent or dangerous acts, or of illegal drug use, which may cause harm to public health or morals. This may include portrayals of sadistic violence, rape or other non-consensual sexually violent behaviour
• which make this violence look appealing; reinforce the suggestion that victims enjoy rape or other non-consensual sexually violent behaviour; or which invite viewer complicity in rape, other non-consensual sexually violent behaviour or other harmful violent activities
• where there are more explicit images of sexual activity in the context of a sex work (see right) In the case of video works, which may be more accessible to younger viewers, intervention may be more frequent than for cinema films.

Last week Captain America kick started the summer box office in the UK, and this weekend the sun actually showed its face making people forget about the cinema for the weekend.

With the sun shining the box office saw a massive drop in taking and Captain America: Civil War war a 60%+ drop in taking to £4.06 million.

This brings the films total takings to £27.3 million on its second weekend of release, although this is still better than the previous 2 film at the same point in their release.

Highest new film of the week is Bad Neighbours 2 at number 3 which debuts with £1.69 million.

With the sun out this is way lower than the original 2014 film which scored an £8 million plus opening.

Also new this week are Florence Foster Jenkins at number 4, Robinson Crusoe at number 5 and 24 at number 10.

Marvel unleash their first blockbuster of the year to the delight of fans and like every year for the last few years it smashed into the top of the UK box office.

Captain American Civil War is the biggest assemble of Marvel superhero characters outside of an Avengers movie and takes over at the top with a weekend take just shy of £20 million.

Compared to the previous Marvel films this is fairly normal but the is by far the highest grossing Captain America movie.

Projection for the movie should be high, but Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice gave a wake up call last month as to how a superhero movie can perform below average.

The Jungle Book falls down to number 2 this week on its 3rd week of release with £5.7 million, its total is £33.2 million to date.

Highest total grossing movie on the box office is Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice which has taken £36.5 million to date.
