Dwayne Johnson in his monster flick Rampage managed to stay top of the UK box office this weekend in what was a very quiet window.

The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society3 things happened this weekend in the UK which led to a very quiet time at the box office, the weather was very good, there were major sporting events on TV and nothing new really came out in anticipation for Avengers Infinity War next weekend.

This led to Rampage remaining the top film with £1.4 million which brings the film total in the UK to £6.4 million.

Climbing back to number 2 is A Quiet Place with just over a million pounds which brings the films total UK gross to £8.2 million.

Highest new film of the week is the Mike Newell directed The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society which enters at 3 with £825,777.

This mean that for the first time in a while only the top 2 films took over a million over the weekend.

Holdovers finish off the top 5 with Ready Player One at number 4 and Peter Rabbit at number 5, they have a total UK gross of £15.4 and £30.8 respectively.

After an incredible 4 weeks at the top of the UK box office Rampage come knocks Peter Rabbit down to number 2.

Starring Dwayne Johnson the video game adaptation lands at the top with a weekend gross of £4 million.

After the success of Johnson last film Jumanji he is a box office pull at the moment and this could have good legs and go on to gross over £20 million in the UK.

Peter Rabbit falls to number 2 this week with £2 million which after 5 weeks brings the films total gross to and excellent £38 million.

After entering the chart at 2 last week A Quiet Place falls to number 3 this week with £2 million bringing the film UK gross to £6 million.

Ready Player One falls to 4 this week with just over a million bringing the total gross to £14 million while new at 5 is Truth or Dare which lands with just shy of a million.

With a very narrow margin the Dwayne Johnson starring Rampage knocks A Quiet Place off the top spot after just one week.

Rampage, loosely based on the video game, takes over at the top with a weekend gross of $34.5 million.

Johnson's star is shining bright at the moment and after the success of Jumanji last Christmas it's no surprise this has become a big hit.

With a very small drop in takings form last weekend A Quiet Place falls to number 2, but with $32.6 million over the weekend it was a close call and the film is very close to a US total gross of $100 million.

New at 3 is Truth or Dare which takes $19 million for the weekend which at 4 is Ready Player One which takes $11 million for the weekend and brings the films total gross to $111 million in the US.

FInally in the top 5 is Blockers which takes $10 million for the weekend bringing the films total gross to $36 million.

Peter Rabbit follows in the footsteps of the previous top film Black Panther and makes is 4 weeks at the top in a row.

The film this weeks takes £3.2 million which brings the film total to £32.2 million.

Staying at number 2 this week is Ready Player One which looses ground on Peter Rabbit this week taking £2.4 million from the weekend.

This pushes the Spielberg directed film to a total UK gross of £11.5 million after 2 weekends of release.

Highest new film of the week is A Quiet Place directed by John Krasinski and starring himself and his wife Emily Blunt.

The critically acclaimed film takes £2.7 million on its opening weekend.

Love, Simon is a new entry at number 4 this week and Isle of Dogs from Wes Anderson falles to number 5 this weekend.

At the US box office this week John Krasinski directs himself and his wife Emily Blunt in the new number one film A Quiet Place.

The Film opens strong at the top of the US box office with a $50 million opening weekend which is one of the top openings for the horror genre.

A Quiet Place removed Ready Player One from the top after a single weekend, the Steven Spielberg film takes $25 million on its second weekend of release.

The VR sci-fi has now taken nearly $100 million in the US and will pass this milestone probably on Monday.

New at 3 is Blockers, the teen sex comedy which takes $21 million from the weekend.

Finishing off the top 5 is Black Panther at 4 which is now the third highest grossing movie in the US ever with $665 million and I Can Only Imagine at 5.
