The power of IT at the UK box office was far to strong this week and with ease it remains at the top of the box office while Judy Dench stars in the highest new entry.

Warner Bros. continue to market the horror film IT to great effect as the film takes £6 million which is only a 40% drop from its debut.

This brings the films total gross to an excellent £21.1 million from 10 days of release which is putting the film on for easily a £35 million total take in the UK.

Highest new film of the week is Victoria and Abdul directed by Stephen Frears and starring Judi Dench.

The film takes £1.8 million for the weekend which places it at number 2 on this weeks chart.

Also new this week is Mother! which enters at number 3, and with rave reviews and much publicity takes a quite disappointing £0.8 million.

American Assassin is also new at 4 and The Jungle Bunch makes a new entry at number 6.

For the fifth straight week the longest running film is Despicable Me 3 now with 12 weeks while Dunkirk is the highest total grossing movie with £55 million.

After a couple of weeks of very little excitement at the Uk box office this week explodes with the release of Warner Bros. IT which dominates the chart and easily enters at the top.

IT enters the Uk box office with just over £10 million which puts in in the top 100 for UK best opening films and it is the only film on the top 10 to gross over a million.

The hype that has been put into the marketing of the film has been huge and it has paid off, and with favourable reviews, and Stephen King being a favourite in the UK the film was bound to do well.

With nothing of note coming out this weekend coming IT is bound to continue at the top at least for the next week.

American Made falls from the top to number 2 this week with a gross of just over half a million, this brings the films total gross to £4.3 million after 3 weeks of play.

Once again Despicable Me 3 is the longest running film of the chart with 11 weeks and once again Dunkirk os the highest total grossing film with an excellent £55 million, it is now the 19th highest grossing film ever in the UK.

A quiet time of year with no major blockbusters newly released on home video has Mechanic Resurrection climbing to the top of the chart and Dog Eat Dog the highest new film at number 17!

Its unusual for films to climb to the top of the video charts, and when they do they are usually big box office hits, so to have Mechanic Resurrection do the feat us unusual, but from an entry at number 2 last week it climbs.

Jason Statham must have a strong following as the film which was released on 26th August 2016 entered the box office at number 10 with just over half a million on its debut.

The film only laster 2 weeks before falling from the chart and it took £1.1 million during its cinema run.

Sausage Party falls from the top of the chart where it made its debut last week to number 3 this week.

Highest, and only, new entry is the Nicholas cage film Dog Eat Dog, a minor hit that was released November 2016 it didn't chart and took £1,152.

After last weeks almost static home video chart this week we have 5 in the top 10 alone with Sausage Party leading the way by landing at number 1 with £2.7 million on its debut.

Sausage Party was released in the UK on 2nd September 2015 where it landed at number 1, a good debut for an 18 rated animated movie.

After a couple of weeks at he top it then took a sharp decline down the box office spending just 5 weeks in cinemas in total.

Despite this relatively short box office run it actually did really well and ended up with a total gross of £7.5 million.

Also new this week, at number 2 is Mechanic Resurrection a number 10 film from August, Bad Moms at number 3 a number 2 film from August and finishing off the top 5 is Brotherhood a number 2 films from early September.

Also making their debut this week are The Purge Election Year at number 8 a number 5 film from August and finally War Dogs at 13 a number 4 film from August.

There was never going to be any other outcome this weekend as the countries favourite unlucky in love and life Bridget Jones returns to our screens after 12 years away.

Bridget Jones's baby flies into the top on its debut weekend after a fairly aggressive marketing push and the best September weekend ever.

An £8.1 million debut took the film to the top of the box office which is highest than the first film in the series but a couple of million why of the follow up.

With the holiday season coming up and good work of mouth and reviews this could give the film a good run although the other 2 film came in at over £35 million and over £40 million which could be a tough ask.

Sausage party falls to number 4 this week after 2 weeks at the top, a £0.6 million weekend gross brings the total UK takings to £6.6 million.

For the first time in a while only one film on the box office takes over a million pound, although with Jones's gross the box office is on a fairly even total gross to other weeks.

Highest total grossing film of the week is Finding Dory, now on over £40 million, and longest run is The BFG, now around for 8 week.
