Daniel Radcliffe's first film after the Harry Potter franchise - The Woman In Black - opens in the top spot on its opening weekend, although the opening gross is nowhere near that of a Potter franchise it still takes £3,153,020 over the weekend.

Last year the animated film Gnomeo and Juliet took the top spot in its opening weekend with £2,945,627.

Five years ago Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore were at the top in their opening weekend when Music and Lyrics which took £1,929,058.

Ten years ago it was another new film at the top as Pixar's Monsters Inc. took a very respectable £9,200,257 during its opening weekend.
