Global Box Office Weekending 2nd July 2017: Despicable Me 3 conquers the world as the film gets a wider release

Despicable Me 3
After a release last week in some smaller location Despicable Me 3 gets its wider global release and tops the chart in the process.

Diminishing returns for the series means the third film gets the lowest wide release of the series but it still manages a $171 million for the week from 53 countries.

This brings the films total global gross to $192.3 million, well below the other films in the series and with Despicable Me 2 grossing just under a billion dollars and Minions taking $1.1 billion this one could fall way short.

Transformers: The Last Knight made its debut at the top last week but this week falls to number 2, small $85 million week gross from 45 countries takes the films total to $429.9 million.

Baby Driver this week goes to 17 countries sits at number 4 with $27.8 million which brings the films total gross to $36.8 million.

Highest new film of the week is The House starring Will Farrell and Amy Poehler which debuts at 9 with $11.7 million from 21 countries.

Wonder Woman is the top total grossing film of the week, currently at number 3 its taken $707.9 million in world grosses.
