UK Box Office Weekend Report 24th - 26th July 2020: Onward remains at the top, The Fellowship Of The Ring enters high and Stage Mother is the top new film

As Disney continue to top the UK box office with their Pixar release Onward a rerelease of The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring in its extended version enters as the top film wile Stage Mother is the top new film.

Here is a rundown of the top 5(+1) movies for weekend 24th - 26th July 2020.

Onward

Continuing its very impressive run at the top of the box office is Pixars movie which was also at the top when cinemas closed due to the virus, the movie has now spent 5 (non-consecutive) weeks at the top.

The movie takes £60K over the weekend which pushes its total to £5.52 Million.

Trolls World Tour

Considering this movie was available on VOD during the cinema closures and has only hit cinemas in the last few week its done well and sits at number 2 this week with £35K.

The movie has now taken £177K during its 4 week(ish) box office run.

Dreambuilders

Highest new film last week and goes up the chart this week to number 3 this week with £25K for a total of £46K after 2 weeks.

Dirty Dancing

Climbing up a place to number 4 this week is the Patrick Swayze dance classic with takes £24.8K which pushed its total to just shy of £4 Million, the movie has spent 16 weeks on the chart.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring

Re-released in its extended version the Peter Jackson classic movie which was first release in 2001 takes £24.1K.

This is the movies 16th weekend on the box office and has taken £61.6 Million in the UK.

Stage Mother

Stage Mother

Highest new film of the week enters the box office at number 6, the movie is directed by Thom Fitzgerald and stars Lucy Liu and takes £19.3K on its debut.
