UK Box Office Weekend Report 3rd - 5th January 2014: American Hustle climbs to number 1 after going wide in the UK

American Hustle After a limited early release for 2 weeks in the UK the critically acclaimed movie American Hustle tops the UK box office on its 3rd weekend.

Ending the 3 week run at the top for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, American Hustle takes over with a weekend box office gross of £3.4 million.

Falling to number 2 in a very close race is The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which takes £3.2 million on its fourth weekend.

The hit Disney movie Frozen is still inside the top three for another weekend as the movie takes nearly £3 Million on its 5th weekend of release.

Highest new film of the weekend is the veteran starring movie Last Vegas which boasts a cast including Micheal Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Klein, it takes £1.8 million on its debut.
