US Box Office Weekend Report 2nd - 4th June 2023: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse tops the North American box office with an amazing debut over $120 Million

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
The signs were strong that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was going to be a big movie and with a debut gross over $120 Million it surpassed expectation and is now the 7th top debuting movie in June at the North American box office.

The movie takes close to a $100 Million more than its predecessor Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which took $35 Million on its debut in 2018.

The Little Mermaid spends a single weekend at the top of the box office and falls to number 2 this weekend and has taken $186.2 Million after 2 weekends of release.

Second highest new movie this weekend is the Stephen King written movie The Boogeyman which makes its debut at 3 with $12.3 Million.

Holdover movies fill out most of the top 15 until a new entry at 12 for Past Lives which takes $232,266 and at 13 there is a new entry for The Roundup: No Way Out which takes $200,000.
