Video chart report 8th February 2015: Gone Girl appears at the top

Gone Girl
A change at the top of the UK video chart sees box office smash hit Gone Girl go to number 1 on it's debut week of sales.

Gone Girl was released at the UK box office on 3rd October in 2014 and took the top spot on its debut weekend taking a very reasonable £4.1 million.

The film was on the box office chart for a total of 9 weeks and took a total UK gross of £22.1 million during it's run which makes it the 141st highest grossing movie ever in the UK.

On the world stage it was a relatively bit hit grossed $368 million which is not too bad and makes it the 217th highest grossing film ever.

Last weeks top film, The Equalizer, only falls a single place on it's second week of release to number 2.

Only 1 other new release this week in the shape of If I Stay which makes it debut at number 7.
