World Box Office Analysis 13th - 15th September 2019: Many new releases hit the global box office but IT Chapter Two remains at the top

There were a number of new films hitting the global box office this weekend, many of them from China, but none were big enough to stop IT Chapter Two from getting a second weekend at the top.

IT Chapter Two

Remaining at the top for a second weekend is the Stephen King novel adaptation sequel which this weeks takes a bit drop from its debut sut still manages $87.7 Million from 79 countries.

This means that the Andy Muschietti directed sequel has now taken $323.3 Million globally after 2 weeks of release.

Coming in at the highest new film of the week is the American movie starring Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez which takes $37.7 Million on its debut weekend.

The film is only released in 16 countries so not a bad effort for a film with little advertising spend from the studio.

Detective Conan: The Fist Of Blue Sapphire

Also making its debut on the global box office this weekend is the 23rd film in the Detective Conan animated movies.

The Fist Of Blue Sapphire is making its global box office debut this week at 3 although the film has been out for some time, this week is takes $25.4 Million as it expands to 3 countries.

The film has now taken a global total of $114.2 Million.

Bad Guys: Reign Of Chaos

Another new release making its box office debut with a single country release of China, the film makes its debut at number 4 with a take of $19 Million.

The Last Wish

Finally on the top 5 a film making its debut and released in just 2 countries with a weekend box office gross of $18.6 Million.

Again the film has been out some weeks already and has a total global gross of $22.9 Million despite this being its chart debut.
