World Box Office Analysis 9th - 11th August 2019: Hobbs And Shaw holds the top spot for a second weekend with Chinese film Line Walker 2 the top new film

It was a second weekend at the top for Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw with the only challenge coming from Disney's The Lion King, Chinese film Line Walker 2 was the top new film.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw

The summer action crowd pleaser starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham knocks up a second weekend at the global box office with a gross of $86.2 Million from 67 countries.

This puts the films total gross at $322.6 Million after its second weekend of release but there are some big markets still to come like China where The Fast And The Furious movies have always done well.

The Lion King

Disney's live actio movie is at 2 and takes $71.4 Million on its 5th weekend of release from 55 countries which puts its total global gross at an amazing $1.33 Million.

There is some debate of the film qualifies or not but this could be seen as the most successful animated movie of all time.

Ne Zha

The Chinese animated movie falls to 3 this week with a weekend gross of $64.4 Million and the film is still only release in a single country.

Amazingly this puts the film total gross at $507.3 Million and is China's 5th highest grossing movie of all time.

The Bravest

Also doing well in the Asian market is fire fighting movie The Bravest which takes $28.8 Million this weekend from 4 markets to push its total global gross to $163.6 Million.

Line Walker 2

From director Jazz Boon comes sequel movie Line Walker 2 which is the top new entry on the global chart this week with $27.8 Million from 4 markets this weekend taking its total gross to $61.0 Million since release.
