World Box Office Weekend Report 3rd - 5th September 2021: Shang-Chi tops the global box office on its debut weekend of release.

Marvel release their latest movie and with it the first signs that cinema goers are putting the pandemic behind them is stating to show as it gets a massiv debut gross.

Also new on the global box office this week is The Tomorrow War which makes its debut in Chinese cinemas and gets a good debut weekend, also new this week are After We Fell which is new at 7 with $6 Million .

A new Marvel movie and a new number 1, the second movie in the phase 4 series of movies from the MCU gets a cinema only release and becomes one of the top movies in recent months.

The movie takes a fantastic $127.6 Million on its debut weekend and continues to prove that cinema is not a dying form of watching movies and studios can make money.

The movie got released in 42 countries this weekend and topped the box office in most of them.

Free Guy

Shawn Levys sleeper movie of the summer falls to number 2 this weekend after spending 3 weeks at top with a $34 Million gross from 48 countries.

The movie has had small drops in weekend taking over its weeks of release and this week is no exception with a small 33% drop, another sign people are going back to cinemas.

It is now the 6th top grossing movie globally of 2021 with $239.2 Million.

Candyman

The horror remake never made it to the top of the global box office as this week it drop to number 3 with a weekend gross of $13.1 Million from 53 countries, a 52% drop on its second weekend, the movie has taken $50 Million in total.

The Paw Patrol Movie

The Children's movie drops to number 4 this weekend with $11.1 Million from from 48 countries, a very slim 34% drop over last weekend, for a total of $80.6 Million after 4 weeks of release.

This Chris McKay starring Chris Pratt got released in many countries back in July on the Amazon Prime streaming channel, but this week gets a cinema release in China and makes its global debut at 5 with $8.1 Million.
