Global Box Office Figures 3rd - 5th May 2016: Avengers Endgame continues to dominate world cinema on its second weekend with Long Shot highest new film

Avengers: Endgame
Avengers: Endgame continue its path of world domination, breaking box office records this weekend while it stops all other movies from getting to number 1.

Long Shot is the top new movie of the weekend entering the chart at 2 while there are 4 other new films on the top 10.

Avengers: Endgame

The Marvel film remains at the top of the global box office for a second weekend and in the process becomes the fastest film to break the $2 Billion milestone.

Only 4 other films have broken this mark, Avatar, Titanic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame did it in 11 days!

The films weekend take is $428 million from 56 countries with a $2.2 Billion total gross, according to Gitesh Pandya from boxofficeguru.com (an excellent website) the film will pass Avatar's $2.7 Billion gross on or around May 20th on its way to a possible $3 Billion gross.

Incredibly the film is already the second highest grossing film of all time having just over taken Titanic.

Seth Rogan and Charlize Theron star in this romantic political comedy which is directed by Jonathan Levine.

The film lands at number 2 on its debut weekend of release with a gross of $13.3 million from 23 countries.

Capernaum

This dramatic true story directed by Nadine Labaki enters the global box office at number 3 this week with a gross of $13.1 million from 17 countries.

The Intruder

Another new entry at number 4 this week is this thriller starring Meagan Good and Dennis Quaid which takes $11 million over the weekend from a single country release.

Uglydolls

Finally on the top 5 is this animated comedy which takes $9.4 million for 9 counties on its debut weekend.
