New film releases at the UK box office Friday, 9th August 2019 - Blinded By The Light, Playmobil: The Movie and The Sun Is Also A Star

At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 9th August 2019, there are 3 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw from the top of the UK box office chart next week.

Playmobil: The Movie

Blinded By The Light

First up at cinemas this week is Blinded By the Light, a Comedy directed by Gurinder Chadha who also directed Bride and Prejudice in 2004 which grossed £5 Million.

It stars Viveik Kalra who is making a feature film debut and Kulvinder Ghir who last appeared in The Queens Corgi (2019).

Playmobil: The Movie

Next on the new release schedule is Playmobil: The Movie, this new Fantasy stars Dino Andrade and Gabriel Bateman.

The film is brought to us by new director Lino DiSalvo.

The Sun Is Also A Star

Next up this week is The Sun Is Also a Star which is directed by Ry Russo-Young who directed Before I Fall in 2017.

It stars Yara Shahidi and Anais Lee.
