UK Box Office Analysis Weekend 19th - 21st April 2019: Shazam! bounces back to the top with Kalank the highest new film

With the Easter weekend and the good weather in the UK the box office hit a slump with no film going over £1 million and Shazam! going back to the top, Kalank is the top new film at 4.

Shazam!

After being knock of by Dumbo last weekend the DC superhero movie bounces back this week to go back to number 1 with a weekend gross of £979,787.

This gives the film a 3 week gross of £11.7 million and the it passes the £10 million milestone.

Dumbo

Falling from the top this week where it went back to last weekend the Tim Burton film takes £927,804 on its 4th weekend of release.

This pushes the film past the £20 million milestone with £21.3 million.

Captain Marvel

With Avengers: Endgame released this coming weekend it looks like it may give this a bit of a boost, the film climbs to number 3 this weekend with £643,152 pushing its UK total to £37.8 million after 7 weeks.

Kalank

This Indian film directed by Abhishek Varman enters the UK box office at number 4 with a weekend gross of £594,242.

Red Joan

Also making its debut on the chart this week at number 5 is this Judi Dench starring film which takes £432,866 on its debut.
