The top total grossing film of the week was Minions which had taken £44.2 Million after 9 weeks of release.

Ten years ago (2010)

Another film making its debut at the top was The Expendables starring Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham and directed by Sylvester Stallone

The film with the longest run was Inception which had been on the box office for 6 weeks.

The top total grossing film of the week was Toy Story 3 which had taken £61.7 Million after 5 weeks of release.

Fifteen years ago (2005)

The number one film was Charlie And The Chocolate Factory which had been at the top for 4 weeks.

The top new film of the week was Bewitched directed by Nora Ephron and starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell which entered the box office at number 2.

The longerst run on the box office and the top total grossing film was War Of The Worlds which had taken £30.1 Million over 8 weeks of release.

Twenty years ago (2000)

Making its debut at the top was X-Men starring Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart and directed by Bryan Singer

The longerst run on the box office and the top total grossing film was Gladiator which had taken £30.1 Million over 15 weeks of release.

Twenty five years ago (1995)

Making its debut at the top was Die Hard With A Vengeance starring Bruce Willis and Jeremy Irons and directed by John McTiernan

The film with the longest run was The Brady Bunch Movie which had been on the box office for 11 weeks.

The top total grossing film of the week was Batman Forever which had taken £16.6 Million after 6 weeks of release.

Thirty years ago (1990)

The number one film was Die Hard 2: Die Harder which had been at the top for 2 weeks.

The top new film of the week was Wild At Heart directed by David Lynch and starring Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern which entered the box office at number 3.

The longerst run on the box office and the top total grossing film was Pretty Woman which had taken £12.2 Million over 13 weeks of release.

All change at the top of the UK box office this week with drama Paper Towns taking over at the top leaving last weeks top film to take a huge tumble.

Paper Town is from the same author as last years hit The Fault in Our Stars which topped the UK box office in June of 2014.

Paper Town hasn't debuted as impressively as the £3 million plus of The Fault in Our Stars with a £2 million debut weekend.

Last weeks top film takes a huge tumble down to 6 this week with an £800,000 second weekend which brings it's total to £4.7 million.

Although Paper Towns is the top film of the weekend once again Inside Out, at number 2, is the top film of the week with a Monday - Sunday total or £3.2 million.

Top grossing film on the box office this week is Minions with a total gross of £44 million over 9 weeks of release.
